MSK Care Partners

“We are proud to join Hartford HealthCare in celebrating the opening of the new Fairfield Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art facility that will expand access to advanced, personalized cancer care in Connecticut,” said Selwyn M. Vickers, MD, FACS, President and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). “Through MSK Care Partners, patients at the Fairfield Cancer Center and St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport will receive subspecialized treatment guided by MSK’s world-renowned standards. Our work with Hartford HealthCare represents a shared commitment to improving cancer outcomes by bringing world-class expertise directly into the communities where patients live.”

Hartford HealthCare’s Fairfield Cancer Center is a Care Partner of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK Care Partner), which means that Hartford HealthCare physicians at this location will have access to MSK’s expertise and the opportunity to collaborate and interact with MSK physicians in several ways. Physicians will have the opportunity to consult with MSK’s highly specialized experts on the optimal treatment plan for their patients. Some physicians also will observe MSK physicians performing new techniques, better equipping them to provide the highest standard of care in their own practices.

Building on the groundbreaking 10-year collaboration in which the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute became the first member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance, Hartford HealthCare’s Cancer Institute at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport and Hartford HealthCare’s Fairfield Cancer Center are the first MSK Care Partners in the country.

Healthcare organizations that become MSK Care Partners collaborate with MSK to ensure patients in community settings receive specialized, high-quality cancer care. These partnerships facilitate the integration of MSK Standards of Care™ into local oncology practices through knowledge-sharing, expanded access to clinical trials, enhanced educational opportunities, and collaboration with leading cancer experts. By committing to continuous improvement based on MSK Standards of Care™, these organizations undergo regular quality reviews to adopt the latest and most effective cancer care approaches grounded in scientific evidence.
