Connecticut Early Detection Prevention Program
The goal of the Early Detection and Prevention Program is to provide access to cancer screening services throughout Connecticut. The primary objective of the program is to significantly increase awareness and utilization of breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screenings.
You may qualify for free breast and cervical cancer screenings at the Cancer Institute if:
- You are 40 to 64 years old (mammogram) or 21 to 64 years old (clinical breast exam and Pap test)
- You are 35 to 39 years old with symptoms and/or specific risk factors for breast cancer
- You have limited income and no health insurance
- You have health insurance that excludes routine Pap tests and/or mammograms
- You have an insurance deductible of $1,000 or more
- You have no Medicare Part B
What to Expect
The Program offers many breast cancer screening and diagnostic services for free, including office visits, screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast biopsies, breast ultrasounds, fine needle aspirations and clinical breast exams.
